I put gutters up on one of the barns to catch rain and water the cows. The problem was the tank wasnt big enough and this time of year the rain is sporadic. Ive been keeping my eyes out for a bigger water tank and one came up today. Pretty good price, 140 for a 700 gallon plastic tank. One inch of rain will fill it up and then some, based on the sq feet being caught ill probably be looking for ideas on how to keep it fluid come winter

Hook, have you looked into a tire tank? I have 5 of the 12 footers. They don't freeze much in the winter time and have a life expectancy of 2600 years. Also a cool trick I didn't know, that heavy lip on those plastic water tanks? If you need to repair a hole or crack, you can use a sawzall and trim a strip of plastic off the underside of that lip. Using a heat gun, you can melt that strip into the affected area and repair the leak. It works beautifully.

I think you would have been better off with a huge storage tank feeding a smaller tank.

Can't help you with the gutters.

I think you would have been better off with a huge storage tank feeding a smaller tank. Maybe, but for a lot more money
