I have a piece of 15"dia 3/8" wall thickness pipe I want to use for a smoker firebox, but it has some kind of lining/protectant inside and out. Looks like it will scrape off pretty easily with a shingle spade, but will I ever get the risk of bad odor, taste, or worse, out of the smoke from the firebox?

Metal is pretty porous, and can hold fumes and flavors for a long time. I think I would find something else to make it out of

Was trying to figure out a use for this 7' long piece. Too short for anything I would have a ready use for..........too short for a culvert for sure and too heavy to make a small 4 wheeler spray tank out of too.

Really hot fire will fix it. Yep. Except I would go with multiple good long hot fires. All kinds off old crap is used for smokers. It'll be fine.
