Unless one is a hypochondriac folks tend to avoid Dr's until there is pain, and for some a LOT of pain. Medical checkups are a part of staying healthy. A colonoscopy gets discussed in a negative way by most all folks. It's an invasion of our privacy. Then we hear of the dreadful stories of the preparation for the procedure. It all gets exaggerated and out of proportion. It's a test, pure and simple. Take the solution to clean our your intestines for an inspection, and be done with it for 10 years unless they find something that needs a closer look.
First time a Dr. told me I needed one I rejected the idea. After a bit of discussion I asked her why she was so adamant. She replied, "If my dad had one at your age, he probably be alive today!". I told her to set up the schedule.
Many folks take better care of their horses, cattle, dogs and cars then they do themselves!
I’ll take a colonoscopy over a prostate biopsy and happy dance about it!

A brown recluse bit me in the back of the thumb. I killed it and put it in a zip lock. Before that I took right angle nail clippers and cut out a dime size area at the bite. Filled the hole with peroxide. I did go to ER. They asked how I knew it was a recluse and I gave them the bag. There is a scar there but it is nothing like the pictures everyone else has. Cutting it out hurt some but I suspect it was much less painful than going thru the entire ordeal had I not cut out the bite.
The doctors chewed my butt. Severely. For cutting out the bite. I laugh about that part.
