Didn't see this mentioned yet..2 were arrested earlier this month, and this week, 16 more after a short investigation and the military has rightfully chosen to make it all public.
Arrested..not sent to desk duty. They are currently in the Camp Pendleton brig..that's military for jail.
The CO did the right thing! UCMJ is going to be tough on 'em.
Taking bribes to transport illegal 'immigrants' to their next stop in their journey North....and, transporting drugs as well.
Just off the top of my head, I can count about a dozen different Articles of UCMJ these guys (allegedly) violated) but there are probably more.
I hope they all end up in Leavenworth with a dishonorable discharge.

The leaders at Camp Pendleton sent a strong message this week as the investigation widened, ordering the 16 Marines to the front of an early morning battalion wide formation on Thursday and arresting them in front of 800 of their peers.
