Love that milk face! Looks like a relatively small cow. First calf heifer or awesome producer? Did you get a lot of frozen ears this year? I'm shocked I only have one.

Looking good Jake. Them little puny cows wouldn't cut in some places like over in Kentucky. They sure seem to be doing a good job in Kansas!

Picture 2 and 3 are the same cow. She's a first calf heifer out of SAV Seedstock with a Cole Creek Cedar Ridge 1V calf at side. I doubt she'd go 1000 at the moment. In fact I don't know that many of our first calvers would. I wasn't a fan of the Cedar Ridge calves for quite a while but they have come on well. They were a little too calving ease as we had some 25-40# calves out of him. TONS of frozen ears this year. I believe we had to retag something like 50 head that lost their ears.

Woah, 25-40 lbs is tiny! But you sure can't tell it from the pics so your heifers have done their job. Sorry about all the ears. Some years are just brutal; one calf lost half his tail and both ears about 4 years ago (named him JimBob).

Do you get docked on sale day for short ears? We take a bath on short eared calves here.

I plan to keep most of the heifers and will try to market everything off the farm to avoid taking a bath on them.
