The murder rate in chicago has been in decline for the last 4 years, according to the chicago pd, shootings also. This president signed an executive order making it easier for people with mental illness to buy guns, literally one of the first things he did. NRA hardlining isn't going to work forever, I used to believe in it, no more. There has to be an open dialogue by people on both sides that truly want these incidents to stop to affect any change, and I don't see it. I straddle the fence on it, ownership is a right for law abiding citizens, but the mental image of a 4 month old baby being shot to death is almost too much to bear. I have no problem killing someone in self defense, but when we cant even go buy groceries or go to an event without worrying that our loved ones are going to be killed indiscriminitely, we need to do something.

Over 2000 killed everyday. Any guess by what means??? With 50 states, that's ~ 40 per state.... Going to go with health care as my guess. Kinda cheating to include drugs and doctors together. It does involve Doctors, and drugs, but I wouldn't qualify it as health "care," since it purposelessly kills a life. |

Ironically enough Sim it is advocated for by the very same people advocating gun control. Guess in their mind it’s ok if you kill your own child but not if it’s somebody else's? The places with the strictest gun control/ least guns has the most issues so that’s not working. I say start with eliminating the possibility of repeat offenders and go from there. Rape and child molestation should be included on that list of capital offenses. At least you are constantly narrowing the field. The mental health crisis is really a lack of respect and discipline in society with just enough honest to god crazies mixed in to give the wannabes something to work towards. Just my two cents.

more people die from illness
more people die from car accidents
the list goes on..
should we not go to the grocery store because we can trip on the concrete and DIE !??!?!

Springfield Missouri in the last couple of days had a potential wal mart shooter. Good guy with a gun held him until police came and got him. Snoop that should have been on local news in your area. Arm yourselves people and shoot back. Most of the shooters are stopped as soon as police engage them. That tells me that they just need engaged faster. Only way it gets faster is when the victims shoot back.

That mob of tumbsucking communists wanting to be on the top of the dumbocrap ticket ought to be enough to make anyone want to buy more firearms. Haven't most of them said they would confiscate guns? They can add the word "assault" to most anything in the future to fit their agenda. Any of them would try hard to create some "Venezuelan Utopia" that we'd have to shoot our way back from. Arm yourself and go shopping......if not, buy online and have it delivered. UPS and FedEx are pretty damn speedy.

I thought I made it clear, that I was not on a "side", I can think for myself. I love to shoot, not a big fan of hunting anymore, had to do too much of it to survive years ago. Nothing against it, I just don't. I love my guns , reload, cast my own bullets, collect old militaria, and I do not have to have the NRA to tell me what to think. I don't give 2 shits who likes me, or my opinion. Matter of fact, I don't give half of that. I will tell you this, I treasure my grandchildren, and I can't believe that we can't do better than "active shooter" drills to protect them at school. You say , we should have an armed guard, well how about we stop it before it gets that far?

The fact that the shooters have not been taught right from wrong is a huge part of it. Yes some of it is mental but much of it is just mean. |
