What herbicides would you recommend for some overgrown areas Woody brush, tea weed , dog fennel etc. I want complete burn down to bare ground. Some mature oaks in these areas. I do not want to put diesel in my spray tank.

Spot 1-100 pastureguard 1-100 tordon22
Broadcast A quart of each. I would try to not get to much under the canopy of the oaks. Tordon22 can have a 9-12 month residual Although I've found it to be alot less. You can substitute remedy for pasture gaurd. You'll get better results with pasture gaurd though.

2qts Velpar, 2qts Remedy and a gallon of 24d to the acre will fix everything up. The bermuda got hurt, bahia was so so and the crab grass couldn't handle it. I was very impressed and so far no noticable damage to the big oak trees. And best of all it wiped the smutgrass out.

Fence's mixture should work as good as anything. Probably take at least two or three applications over two years. Double up on your surfactant rate will help. Lots of briars have leaves with a waxy coating that is hard for the chemical to penetrate so the added surf gives it a little more time.

Grit give pasturegaurd a try anywhere you would use remedy, but a little residual might be good.

This is mainly fences and areas where after the Hurricane the seeds of every tree and brush known to man has germinated. I half tempted to spray paraquat on it.

paraquat won't do any thing but kill the leaves.

Where I used Velpar, Remedy and 24d for smutgrass it pretty much wiped everything out besides some grass types. Without adding the Velpar the mix I used sorta worked along the drainages to clear the brush.

I have used it for fence rows. It's different than most everything else I use because you spray it on the soil instead of the leaves. It takes it up from the soil.

I'm surprised as much as you like to kill trees.
