AI'd a few heifers back at the end of July, I don't plan on hitting them again if they didn't take. I will let my bull clean up what's left. I would like to know who sired what calf.
The plan is to turn them in with the bull and put patches on them around 16-17 days and watch for activity. If I get around to it I'll draw blood at 30 days, probably won't happen. So worst case I miss a heat or get a false heat, have a calf a week early or late and can't tell who the sire is.
Sound like a solid plan? Not ideal but definitely the cheapest and easiest.

30 days after ai is easy enough. Figure due date off ai if they don't calve within a 10day window of either side your bull is the sire.

What M5 said and, unless you have a really awesome bull, you should be able to differentiate between the AI and natural calves pretty easily.

I have had AI sired calves go over by 14 days. I have also had AI sired calves that made wish i had let my bull bred her. Mostly you will know the difference in the calves.
