His arrogance was created by his father and maybe his grandfather. I know his father was a ranking officer. John crashed 5 planes in total. Other pilots would have had their wings taken but his father's rank gave him a cushion. Makes me wonder if he would have been a better bomber pilot if he did not have such a poor record. But he left and returned feeling privileged and it showed with his attitude and brassiness. More power to him but he never helped the USA via politics.
