South central Oklahoma if the matters. Plants start off really well and start blooming. I have zucchini plants you can’t jump over but not a single zucchini yet. But they hit a stage where the leaves turn brown and small veggies rot. The plant nearly dies off but comes back but doesn’t produce well. The plant next to it seems fine and produces veggies but really slow and very few. Nothing is producing well though.
I talked to a local and he said he can’t grow anything except in raised beds due to the clay soils. I’ve got red clay in sw Oklahoma and it grows veggies faster than I can eat and give away.
I read it’s a calcium deficiency, but I’ve played that game before. No matter the problem that’s the standard answer.
It’s not bugs or anything like that . But something is off. I’m thinking acidic soil maybe ? I don’t know Any ideas ?

Some plants need pollinators. If they are setting fruit then rotting off that may be a possibility. Too much water or nitrogen could possibly have the same result.

I’m the worst about over watering but it’s been a 100 everyday and I’m gone for work days at a time. I water good before I leave for work and I check soil moisture now before I water. I think it needs some type of soil amendment.
Soil samples may be the answer

I've had the same problem this year. It's just to wet. The stuff that I've sprayed with systemic fungicide has done okay but systemic fungicide is hell on bees so I hate using it since they're parked right next to the garden. I started some stuff for a fall garden that I usually only grow as a spring crop and it's doing just fine.

You need lime, lime, and more lime. From your symptons, I'm thinking that is your problem.

You may have a couple of things going on cross.
your current problems with blossom set may be just due to heat. many plants wont set again until your highs are under 90-95
Lush plants with slow blossom set and fruit growth sounds like a nutrient deficiency, specifically phosphorous. A full soil test will tell you for certain what you need. A quick fix is trying a foliar plant food like miracle grow for tomatoes or roses. Both are high in phos. Its fast acting though short lived.
If its real wet clay, like okie has, the roots an have trouble with nutrient uptake, especially if the soil is low on calcium.
Test the soil, but before replanting, working a boatload of gypsum into the soil with help lighten it substantially without significantly raising ph. If your test shows your ph is too low, add lime or whatever you prefer, in addition to the gypsum.

Also see the leaves with the brown edges. Some plants survive but never do well. They do reall well to a certain stage. Some show no problems but the plant next to them will just turn sick. It was really wet this spring but it’s turned off really hot and dry. I think there is something off with the soil

Couple different things. Too much water, a fungus.... pretty easy to treat though

This is what I came home to. Idk what’s going on. Leaves were brown on the end and some of the squash were rotting. I fertilized with miracle grow on Saturday.
