I had a Keurig coffee maker, but the coffee was not tasting like it used to. I figured I was getting burnt out. I was using Community Dark Roast blend from Sam's, but the taste just did not suit me anymore. I picked up a bag of Espresso made by Starbucks, and liked it real well for a short period of time. I finally threw the Keurig in the garbage can and started using my French Coffee press to see if I could get the taste that I wanted. It was decent, but not what I was looking for. I stopped drinking coffee for a while as I figured I was just burnt out all together.
Then I remembered how good the coffee was from a percolator I had. I dug it out of the cabinet, but could not find the cord. Good grief I thought I would have wound it around the handle, but I did not. So I ordered a new one and was excited about making the 1st pot. When I drank it, the coffee was strong and not drinkable. I then made another pot and used less coffee, which I would have considered weak as my coffee looked like motor oil before.
I found the perfect amount of coffee by using less and it was a little bit weaker. That was the best pot of coffee that I had made, and now continue to make it the same way now.
Funny how I thought coffee had to be so strong, and lucked up on an amount that allowed the creamer and coffee to work out perfectly. No more drip coffee makers. My perculator coffee is just the best for me. I have been continuing to use the Community Dark Blend, but occasionally use the Espresso. I do believe that the Community Coffee is the best blend.
What kind of coffee and coffee maker do you use to get your day started?

I like Texas Pecan. The boss lady likes a different HEB pod. We had tried several. We only use HEB now. I never used the Keurig at all until we had a refueling outage. They had me on odd hours. I just wasn’t practical to make a pot in the Bunn for one cup. So I started using the Keurig. Once I found the HEB brands, I was hooked.

Dunkin Donuts coffee with a splash of salt is my favorite, Maxwell house a close second.

I drink probably an unhealthy amount of French Roast, Members Mark from Sam's. Put the Keurig on "strong" and hit it twice to get 20 ounces. Add a little heavy cream, also from Sam's. Never sugar, try to live low carb. There's a difference between machines, some won't brew as hot. There's a small one I got for our "break room" house that brews holy shit strong and hot.

I still use the drip kind with a timer and like Folgers Classic Roast. The Keurig was tossed long ago.

I use the Keurig, I only drink a cup every now and then. Rural King coffee is what we currently have but, will drink any normal non flavored coffee.

I have a drip machine and drink folgers breakfast blend. I do like a few other brands okay but my boy likes the folgers best so I just get it. I have a couple of old percolators that I crack out from time to time because they remind me of the summers that I spent living in the back country but I don't like the mess so I only use them every so often.

[quote author=" chuckie " source="/post/7913/thread" timestamp="1566139300"What kind of coffee and coffee maker do you use to get your day started? We're on the same page there.. I used to use the store bought pods but it got expensive and I found I was drinking too much coffee because it was just too quick and easy. Now I fill my own pods a lot cheaper using the paper filters in the plastic screens and I bulk mix med dark roast with Texas Pecan about 50/50.

My wife loves that HEB Texas Pecan also. She has me pick some up when I'm near an HEB. That and some of their real cane sugar sodas.
I drink whatever's brewed.

I don't know how y'all can drink the flavored stuff. I've tried several kinds and they all taste like a dessert to me, not coffee.
When I was 15 or 16 I poured me a cup of what my dad had made that morning and sat the cup on the table, then walked to the refrigerator. He asked me what I was doing and I told him I was going to get a little milk to put in it. He said, "Not at my table you won't." I went ahead and sat down and grabbed the sugar bowl (mom used sugar) and he said, "Hell no! Men drink coffee black here." So, I drank two cups of hot and black that morning and haven't changed.

I'm a Folgers guy myself. I like it much better than anything I have ever tried. Black with one teaspoon of honey.

We use the drip coffee maker, just a cheap on at that. We prefer the Maxwell House French Roast, and made pretty strong. I drink mine black and my wife puts half or more milk and quite a bit of sugar in hers. The other day we were at the bottom of the can and I didnt open another to make the coffee, my wife came along and said it tasted weak, I wondered how she could tell the difference with all the milk and sugar.
