Not to many hunt dove around here. But most don't seem to know we have some pretty good stuff planted for dove at work.

Do you spray Gramoxone on it in a week? Used my Google. No I'll Bale the residue. Cut it with the bushhog just for you. Then over the next few weeks I'll prep it for oats. If I wasn't gonna plant oats I'd let it regrow, still plenty of time to get grazing or even a cut off it.

We love dove season around here. We open Sept 7th, but we usually wait a couple of weeks till the weather cools down some.

I'm looking forward to what your take is on the drying time and the ease of baling when rotary cut? Once you bale it give it a few days and spray Gramoxone on a strip and then spread cracked corn on the strip. We do this on our brown top and sunflower fields, the dove can't resist the black ground and yellow specks.

Serious question. I really enjoy hunting dove. But they taste like ass. I’ve soaked them in saltwater, buttermilk, fillet of the bone, wrapped in bacon, skew with sausage, onion and peppers but they the dark bloody, copper tastes I can’t get past.
Anybody have away to cook them so they ate edible?

Anybody have away to cook them so they ate edible? Diagnosis: Broken mouth, bad tastebuds. Likely to eat mud cats and gar. Prognosis: Not much future in a kitchen, cull immediately

Some of the guys wrap the breast around a stuffed jalapeno popper, wrap bacon around the outside and grill them.

One of the best meals all year . salt pepper flour and hot grease. Mashed potatoes, gravy and cat head biscuits. Can't over Cook them or they are tough . Med rare is best. Try to eat as many as I can during hunting season.
