You get to deal with about five different agencies that all point to each other and none of them can complete anything until the other agency does. It's a circle jerk. They tell you you have to do____ so you do it and then they telly you you they can't file ____ until you do ____ but that particular ____ requires you to have the paperwork completed from the first____ |

I finally got somewhere today. I was telling my banker about my frustrations yesterday. His wife called me this morning. Turns out she's the fleet manager for a large construction company. She said it sounds like my DOT number wasn't validated as she's run into that before. Sure as shit I called the FMCSA and after a two minute phone call all of a sudden everything is falling into place and everyone seems to know what I need to do next. I don't know if I'm grateful to be getting somewhere or pissed that I've wasted three weeks chasing my tail around in circles.

I can certainly see why drug and alcohol testing is mandatory now. I've never used drugs of any kind but I'm about ready for a drank or two after all this crap.
