This guy seems to be going off the deep end.
I read something when he was elected that it fulfilled prophecy that he would be the last pope. I will look for it . I believe we are in end times.

Nothing new. I mean pretty much all religion just gets made up as it goes along. Rules get changed to fit the time's.

The man that interviewed him said that "as best he remembered he thought this is what he said". The Pope must believe and teach the doctrine of the church. He cannot teach to the contrary. The Catechism definitely says there is a hell.
1022 Each man receives his eternal retribution in his immortal soul at the very moment of his death, in a particular judgment that refers his life to Christ: either entrance into the blessedness of heaven-through a purification594 or immediately,595 -- or immediate and everlasting damnation.

You are in the wrong church. That's easy enough to say. But can you prove it?? Yes. Come up to my church. You won't hear much of anything that isn't right out of scripture.

I haven't seen that news article as of yet, but it wouldn't surprise me he was misquoted.

If you attend a church that teaches/preaches anything that’s not in the Bible (I prefer KJV) or tries to change what is in the Bible to fit their own wants, desires, or beliefs, then you need to find another church. And I mean that with the utmost respect. Too much “motivational speaking” going on these days and not enough preaching.

On the subject of KJV vs other versions, that is a subject that hits close to home. I personally feel that the KJV is my preferred version, but with that said our church does not have a set version, and the Pastor uses another. My wife was raised in a KJV only church and it is very important to her. She does not push her views on others, but does teach with it in SS, or VBS. I agree with her point that if it is more difficult to understand and one takes the effort to work through it then it is likely retained. She was let go from a teaching position at a church school a few years ago, after teaching for 8 years prior at another school. The reason that was told to her coworkers by the administrator was because of her use of KJV beliefs, which she did use to teach from but did not in any way push her views on anyone. I was raised up in a time period where most of the Bibles I saw were KJV, but as other versions came available many people changed and for a time I went with a New KJV version. My wife points out a lot of times the differences in wording, between versions, and I have to admit that sometimes it is very different, while other times not so much. I feel like the arguments and division over versions is a source of confusion or distraction, for those who are non believers or new to faith. We all have a common enemy that is the subject of the title of this thread. As believers we are called to the service of The Great Commission.
