I am a bit baffled. Folks get a new truck or car and get the windows tinted. Maybe they come that way. Anyhow they zoom up and down the road in vehicles that they can see out of (I hope) but I cannot see in and generally do not care to see in. Then they tell me that they were driving down the road and waved at me coming out of a gate, on the farm, ... but I did not seem to see them. They never take into consideration that nobody can see them in their truck or car. I do not enlighten them I just nod and go on.

My husband purchased a truck with tinted windows, and they are darker than I like. I can hardly tell what I am looking at mostly if the sun is out and the area I am looking at is in a shadow. I did notice at sunset, people don't always turn their lights on immediately. If that vehicle is coming, you have to look very hard to see it. It would be so easy to pull out in front of another vehicle. I cannot see the crops growing riding up and down the road unless I roll down the window.
Ebenezer, you are so right that no one can see you in the truck. No one knows for sure that it is you, or who is driving it and I don't like the tinted windows. The sunset looks different too as I love the beautiful red skies late at sunset.
The one thing that it does do, is keep the inside of the truck cooler. But so does the air conditioner once you turn it on. I would never put tint on my truck.

Tinted windows are great for keeping the sun off your arms and face, but you sure can't see out of them worth a darn.

I have always tinted my windows in every vehicle I have owned except this last one and I have just not taken the time to tint them. Vehicles are remarkably cooler , ac does not have to work as hard. No problems at night because if I am looking for something out the side window it's rolled down anyway. Why do folks want to look in my vehicle?? It's private property. Love the tint on the tractor too.

No sunglasses or tint for me. Gives me dizziness and always has.
Besides, as the book said: "Real Texans would rather squint."

I've never paid to have mine done but don't mind a light tint that's already on a vehicle if I by it. Since I'm going to be sleeping in the backseat of my new truck fairly often I'm thinking about having it tinted nice and dark in the rear windows. My bigest complaint about tinted windows is when pretty girls get them so dark I can't get a good look.

I like a little tint, I think the interior lasts longer besides what others said about being cooler. But I dont like the really dark tent because I dont see as good as I once did.
