That morning was one of only two times in my life that I've been late to work and the other time I was in the hospital. The guy I was riding with that morning had left five minutes early and I had gotten tired of waiting on him so I got to his house on time, which was a few hours before the attack, and missed him. I decided to get a few things done with my own cattle and was listening to the radio while I worked. It took me a while to digest what I was hearing when it started. Once I did, I wandered to my parents house which was nearby where I was working and walked in and sat down in front of the tv and spent the day there watching it unfold in silence. My parents and I were barely on speaking terms at that point in time. By late that night the rage had set in.

I was surveying a swamp in Fernandina Beach FL, standing waist deep in water. I would clip my cell phone to the back of my hat to keep it from getting wet. I remember the struggle to answer the phone while holding other things I couldn't get wet. Friend called and told me I needed to get near a radio, so we walked out to the truck and listened for a bit. After about 10 minutes I decided to pick up our equipment and head back to the hotel. For the rest of the day, 3 grown men sat in silence on the end of the bed and watched the TV as it unfolded.

Has anyone noticed how there hasn't been much news of domestic Islamic violence for a while? Partly an avoidance by the media, imo, and secondly I think they're letting us become complacent for a reason. It's also no accident that their birth rate far exceeds ours, and think of the happiness it would bring to them if any of our guns were confiscated or ammunition became illegal. They are also succeeding with the new wave of anti-semitism. Remember the alliance of the Arabs and the Nazis.

I was in San Angelo Tx working as a CNC machine operator, but that day, since I could weld, was out in the maintenance shop building something and had the radio on and just stopped working and listened in disgust that anyone could do such a cowardly act. About 2 hrs into it, called home and told wife to turn the TV on and once I got home, stayed glued to it and my computer all thru the night. I knew, our world and the world in general had just changed. I'll never forget it.
