with fall worming coming up, I was looking into the differences between cydectin and long range. Its about twice the price of cydectin. Does anyone use long range and is it worth it ?

I wouldn't use long range on cows to begin with but I especially wouldn't use it this time of year. This close to a killing frost the residual isn't going to do you much good. I'd do something cheap like pour on and then hit them with a paste wormer after a killing frost.

I used long range in the spring on bred heifers and liked it. But I do agree with Okie in that I don't know that I would use it either on cows or in the fall. In the spring on stockers or other critters going to grass I like long range a lot.

I switched to Cydectin this year, so far so good and safe year 'round. Plus no withdrawal.

I used Cydectin pour on when I treated the cattle for pink eye last week.

Cydectin injectable. Cheaper pour on just for flies or lice.

I bought a bull calf yesterday on a cow and didn't castrate him. Usually they get cut before I turn out. Gave shots to him and the cow and let them go. Bought 2 other pairs and sold them before I left the sale.
