Does look inviting since we are hot, dry and crunchy. I think I detect tree foliage turning so I imagine your nice weather is going to change soon.

As always, truly enjoy your pics! Those are stout heifers! How many bales do you have - and assuming that's all you need? For the first time in years we have too many, thinking about selling some.

As always, truly enjoy your pics! Those are stout heifers! How many bales do you have - and assuming that's all you need? For the first time in years we have too many, thinking about selling some. There are about 2,500 wrapped bales in the picture, we have another 550 dry bales and about 450 dry carry over bales from last year. The ground finally dried up good enough and the forecast looked good so I cut maybe three hundred more oats / sweet clover bales worth today which was the last thing I had to cut. That should give us plenty to work with this winter. I might go cut some hay on a neighbours place tomorrow as they don't have and livestock and no need for the hay, and if I could get it dry it would help in the dry hay department. As far as selling hay goes, I grew up being told by my grandfather and my father: You never sell hay. Go ahead and lend it, but don't sell it. |

Beautiful country for sure. Calf looks like a real meat wagon. Nice grass! Looks like paradise right now but I bet your winters can be brutal...  |
