Love the one with the running calves! Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing. Does it ever get warm enough for the calves to completely shed? Most of the cows look pretty slick.

We can't seem to grow calves that good even with good grass and mild weather. They look great

Love the one with the running calves! Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing. Does it ever get warm enough for the calves to completely shed? Most of the cows look pretty slick. Most of our calves never slick right off, they always have fuzzy calf hair. They were a little slicker a few weeks ago but have already started to get their winter coats. I see a few cows starting to hair up already too. I guess it's that time of year - they have snow in the forecast for this weekend - I am SOOO not ready for it. Still have a list a mile long of stuff that needs to get done before winter.... The cows really are in great condition this year. Some look like if you poked them with a pin they would pop like a balloon. Like this girl: These two definitely aren't suffering either:

Trying to process that, seeing as how it's still blazing hot here. And oh, sweet Jesus!! I feel so sorry for that girl! Twins maybe? Triplets?

Not looking forward to snow that's for sure but it is that time of year... Doubtful any of it will stick around if it does show up this weekend, but still sucks. Not good for trying to get this years harvest done either. We don't do a lot of grain farming but the little bit we have done this year has been a slow process. We should hopefully have all of our cereal grains combined before any chance of snow(only have roughly 30 acres of oats left to go, hopefully today or tomorrow get them done, fingers crossed). Will still have canola to do but at least snow/rain doesn't hurt it too much once it is in a swath. Have 70 acres of swath grazing left to cut in the next couple of days or it will be nothing but a flat tangled mess if it goes snowed on. As for the round girl, she might have twins, but I'd bet probably not. Won't find out till next April so she has a long ways to go yet!

Great pictures love your cattle! I can’t imagine snow it’s in the 90’s here and miserable hot and dry.

Those last two red cows are pretty close to perfect. Thanks Jake. Those two are half sisters, both sired by the same bull, both 'Z' models. Should've probably kept every daughter of that bull, all the ones we have are excellent. As yearlings and first calvers they weren't very impressive but they continue to get better and better every year. Will probably wean & weigh our bull calves this upcoming weekend. Commercial calves are booked into the November 4 sale. This year is just flying by it seems...
