"Highway Thru Hell" TV show has been cancelled this year. It was on for eight seasons and I always piled up in the recliner to watch it on "The Weather Channel." From what I can tell, it may be seen by people in Canada.
It was amazing to see the techniques they used to pull big rigs out of deep ravines in deep snow and ice. Having driven a truck for 15 years, I suppose that made me more interested in the show. Fortunately, I never had a wreck, but it was amazing to me to see what they did.
I just hate it when they have a show that I really like and it gets cancelled.
I still don't like the fact that they cancelled "Gunsmoke." Ha-ha!! Older people watched it, but the young people didn't. Not a good enough reason in my book. They were into that, "no violence" on TV at the time. Liberals can really mess things up.

I was too young to remember but my dad said we traveled this highway many times:

Texasbred, where is that highway? I would be so afraid to drive that one. I know I could take a tractor trailer down the road with concrete barriers on both sides and not bat an eye. But I would be so afraid of getting too close to the edge on that road that I would never take my eye off the road. To be honest, I would never tempt it. Talk about an anxiety attack!!

There's some roads off 17 around Ouray CO that are plum frightening. Your not driving anything longer than 30 - 35' on them.

There's a few places in California that look about like that road TB posted. There's one that climbs over 7,000 feet in a twenty mile stretch that I started driving with a loaded stock trailer behind me at fifteen. I remember one time there was a sheriffs deputy that tried to pull me over. I thought he was just trying to get up the road so I was hauling ass as there wasn't anywhere for him to get around me. I lost him in the last few miles and dropped my stock off and turned around to head back and met him on the way back down. He laughed and let me off.

After she looked out the window and straight down into the valley, she about threw up....I felt a little bad. She reactively shed a few tears while laughing at herself. When we got up there, she said, we have to go back down dont we? Lol.

Oh good grief! I don't care how good a driver he is, Jeeps have a higher incidence of roll overs. I would have a heart attack riding with this nut.
