Saw an article online “I’m not smart enough to post the link” anyways it read to the affect of that they were temporarily suspending sale of seasoned beef. Apparently what they had been getting didn’t meet their standards. They were suggesting folks get chicken or steak instead of the seasoned meat. I take it they are referring to ground beef, and probably getting that from somewhere pretty far south of the border. It looks like to me that this would be a good time for our wonderful NCBA and various state Associations t use some dues and check off money to make some statements and suggestions oh you know about our American beef is a superior quality product. That is probably wishful thinking though.

NCBA isn't going to do a d#$@ed thing except pay lip service to the big guys. And they act like they are really in the corner of us yet they won't support COOL labeling.

I believe you are 100% correct on that. It’s kind of like working and paying into the worst union ever. An analogy kind of like we are sorry but the workers won’t be getting any coverage or raises anytime soon the companies have to make lots at your expense and actually you can work cheaper than you are to help the company make more.. I haven’t been a member of the NCBA for a long time, and not going to renew my county association membership either. I have to save every dollar I can and am tired of fat cats

Taco Hell was probably finding the beef they were using exceeded their standard "mystery meat' by too great a margin and went on a lower cost search for some kind of basement grade stuff to get back to where they have always been.
