The bees are buzzing. T shirt weather. It is supposed to change. I sure hope my fruit trees don’t bud out.

Been so warm here the last few days that I have had to take countermeasures just to sit out on the porch and have a cup of coffee at night and early in the mornings...mosquito and other flying insects are bad right now.

warm, humid and still..................and foggy. The humidity is causing all kinds of problems on our boat building project. Burned a bunch propane last week trying to get the fiberglass to flash off before the moisture sets in the resin.

It was 8 degrees here yesterday morning. Too cold for mosquitoes, rattle snakes, or homeless people. I haven't seen a mosquito or snake since early October and I think that one homeless guy froze out and left 3 or 4 weeks ago.

It was in the 60’s here yesterday, 39 currently. Nice and muddy to feed hay. Supposed to get down below 20 for a few nights with highs at or a little below freezing, then back to 40-50’s. Been a wild winter, looks like the wild parsnips are growing already and some tree buds starting to develop.

52 and sunny yesterday, wind chill 4 this morning. Yet another rain/sleet/snow storm predicted starting tonight and tomorrow morning but back to the 40's by Saturday. I hate winter!

When it reaches the 60's in January, usually there is a cold front behind it. So often it causes tornadoes that do considerable damage. December and January seem to be when they most often appear. We were 68* yesterday; 43 today and this weekend we will be 15.*

We were 68* yesterday; 43 today and this weekend we will be 15.* We don't often get the tornadoes, have been a few in the state, but our temps are nearly like what you are reporting. 63 today but wind was enough to practically blow you away. Sun then clouds tomorrow and only in the 40's, snow/sleet/rain who knows what on Sat and down to the teens by the end of the weekend and early next week. Pretty unpredictable. But everyday that is warmer, is one less of winter.... Still 60's plus is a little too warm for this time of year. I see some of the "reddish" tint on some of the trees. Saw where one guy had his lines set up to collect maple sap already.....

Farmerjan, this time of the year gives me little samples of the Spring coming. I try to see it in a positive way. When I tell my husband that the Skunks are out dating, or the buttercups are peeking through, he will say, "You still have a lot of freezing weather ahead of you!" Awwgghhh!
It is much more fun to count the different signs of Spring coming. That is a happy thought. I love it when the warm days are injected in the cold days; then slowly the warm days showing up outnumber the cold ones. It just seems to make the winter shorter. I even start with the first day of Winter which is the shortest day of the year. Now each day will get longer. 4:30 will not always bring darkness!!! Yippeee!! Spring is right around the corner!!

I even start with the first day of Winter which is the shortest day of the year. Now each day will get longer. 4:30 will not always bring darkness!!! Yippeee!! Spring is right around the corner!! I’m that way too. I hate winter so much, I have to find hope in small ways like the the days will be getting longer after the shortest day. I have already started looking the trees over ever few days for signs of change. I get real excited to see robins and red winged blackbirds, even though some are here year round generally don’t see many out in the open often till it starts warming some. A few years ago we were pulling out of the Walmart lot and my wife thought I had lost it when pointed out seeing several robins hopping around the grassy areas. I can do without the skunks though they are subject to be anywhere at any time of year around here, and our dogs are experts at finding them. Then it’s impromptu bath time for 1 or more heelers.
