It sickens me about the abortion of babies. Those that killed the babies have a strong will to live when they are so quick to make that choice for someone else.

Can younger women still get birth control without having to tell their parents? I am not for young girls getting involved in this process at all. But since we are all humans, we do sin. But I think the greater sin is to take the life of the baby.

I remember a man that I worked with came in very upset that his daughter had come up pregnant. She was still in school, and he was livid. His voice was shaky and could hardly talk about it without crying. I tried to tell him that so many kids make the wrong choice of having sex so early. I reminded him of being young, and how easy it was to make a mistake and that he too, might have made the same mistake. There were many people that had sex at an early age that were only lucky that they did not get pregnant. I think what he was so upset about was the fact that he went to church each Sunday and was mortified that his daughter could not be hid from the public.
After the baby came, he was so proud of the child and showed us all the pictures. He welcomed the boy into his family and the two got married. She became an accountant and did very well for herself. So in the end, all turned out well.

 That's sad for the kid.  Neither parent to be shows much character, apparently.  Too bad a good family couldn't adopt.

I am bugged by this fireman. He must thought something about her to bring the girl around your family. Why did he introduce her to either one of you if he didn't think much about her? There must have been something going on between the two of them.

For him to be 28 years old, he is not very responsible. Surely he knows how children come about? If I was definitely avoiding having children because I did not want them, or did not like the girl I was dating, I would definitely take precautions on my end to assure that it did not happen. All it takes is missing a pill or two if she was on birth control, and she could become pregnant.

Knowing that he got someone pregnant and talks about her like she is crap; and has nothing to do with the baby would make him the last person in the world I would want to be with. For the child to be his and he is not drawn to the baby, tells me that he is extremely self centered and selfish. If he can leave a child like that, then he could easily repeat the same with another woman. He is doing more harm to himself by not being a father to the child. I can't imagine another women staying with him once they learn of what he did to this baby. If I were to treat a child the way he is treating this one, it would eat at my soul ever day of my life. If it does not eat at him, then there is not much inside this boy.

He should try to be on good terms with the mother of his child and help take care of him or her. Someone needs to give him some good advice instead of telling how badly he has been treated. He is 50% of the problem, so own up to it. Tell him he needs to stand up and be a father.
