Rain

The last month we have had great thunderstorms that pass through that gives 1-2" of rain. But as it gets here, for some reason it splits up and goes right above and below us. I can go outside and hear the rain falling as it is less than a mile from the house. You can smell the rain and the winds blow and it turns really dark. The first rain we had left us with .001" and then this morning we were left with .005."
On Wunderground map, it showed huge yellow clouds just barely missing us. It often makes me wonder if God is trying to get my attention.
We have a chance of rain later on in the week, but not much. I do know that the forecast can change drastically from day to day. I surely hope that it does. We just fertilized the hay field and the last two rains did nothing for it. I suppose the Urea will evaporate away.

Was getting dry here, some really hot winds and spotty rains. Two nights ago there was hail, tornadoes, winds and .82" rain. Trying to clean up a bad mess where there's a couple rental houses, fence where trees are down, etc....

Yep...I’ve seen it do that too. Sucks when it happens regularly.

I am sorry to hear that all of you are going through this as well. Hearing that I am not the only one that it barely misses eases my thoughts of why it might be happening. Sorry to hear about the mess angusrancher is having to clean up.

We had record rain until late May then hardly nothing since. Sounds like us last year. About 30 inches January through May and 7 inches June through December.

What is this rain that you speak of? But when you live in an area with a 10 inch annual average you just don't expect much. But the river keeps flowing by. All I have to do is crank the head gate a little more and open a few taps. I will have plenty of water on the fields. Just need to get some hay baled and picked up. I have one field with a neighbor down hill. I have to wait for them to get their hay done because my tail water flows out on to their field. But this morning I see their swather parked at the end of the field.

100 degrees here grass is crispy and the creek has dried up. Not a trickle creek but a creek that is mapped and generally 4’-6’ wide and 6” deep with good flow. Times are bad here glad I am a little under stocked and just finished a new well and auto waterers.

It is 101 here today with the humidity at 15. Anything that doesn't have irrigation is crispy dry. Much more rain than usual in early June caused a lot of grass growth in the hills. That knee deep grass is now a crispy brown. Everyone is worried about what a lightning strike will do.

Now today.. woke up to more rain and they are saying a heavier storm later. I think we'll have over 2" with these rains.
!!! starting to green up around here.. thank the lord.
I know it sounds silly.. but me and my kids go out and do indian rain dances .. i swear it helps.. lol..
