Forecast yesterday was 10% chance of rain. Wrong!!! Over 5" in 3 hours. The brand new 20 ft. culvert at the south pond is GONE, downstream, mangled in trees because the dirt & clay didn't have enough time to set. Roads are washed out, the other ponds flooded, watershed lake is raging, sump pump working overtime. I'll still take it over a drought but dayum! That is half our annual rainfall in 3 hours!!! I think there would be a flash flood on the river. I would have to head for higher ground.

What's crazy, is one of our neighbors that lives maybe 1.5 miles away (as the crow flies) only got 3.6". North of the town got less than half an inch.

37 degrees here. Cold enough for snow up on the ridges and hill tops. But not a cloud within a thousand miles.

Ended up with 6/10ths at home. Kind of a sleety drizzle in the lower 30s. Doesn't look like it froze. Cows were just enduring heatwave temps of up to 102.

Good deal. We were in bad shape until 3 or so weeks ago.
Still going to be a rough winter in some respects, but we're much better off now. . Dug a post hole and had moisture 3 foot down. Couldn't have dug it that hole 4 weeks prior.
