Forecast yesterday was 10% chance of rain. Wrong!!! Over 5" in 3 hours. The brand new 20 ft. culvert at the south pond is GONE, downstream, mangled in trees because the dirt & clay didn't have enough time to set. Roads are washed out, the other ponds flooded, watershed lake is raging, sump pump working overtime. I'll still take it over a drought but dayum!    That is half our annual rainfall in 3 hours!!! I think there would be a flash flood on the river. I would have to head for higher ground. |

What's crazy, is one of our neighbors that lives maybe 1.5 miles away (as the crow flies) only got 3.6". North of the town got less than half an inch.

Ended up with 6/10ths at home. Kind of a sleety drizzle in the lower 30s. Doesn't look like it froze. Cows were just enduring heatwave temps of up to 102.

Good deal. We were in bad shape until 3 or so weeks ago.
Still going to be a rough winter in some respects, but we're much better off now.
. Dug a post hole and had moisture 3 foot down. Couldn't have dug it that hole 4 weeks prior.
