My wife likes to check on the cows every day, I was just wondering what most folks do?

I try to look and see them in the pasture every day. If I know I have one close to calving I ride thru them but usually this time of the year I just look from a distance to make sure everything looks normal. Its Easier this year with limited areas they can go.

Feed calves twice a day, check cows every evening. They are about 1.5m down the road

The only thing I check daily is the heavy bred hiefers right outside. Other cattle on the homeplace get checked pretty often. Otherwise it'll vary from every 3 - 10 days. Shorter when either feed or water is scarce. Right now with tall grass and flowing creeks. I'm checking about every 10 days.

It's only been once a week myself, but my nephew is now living out there so he sees them everyday.

When at pasture, only once a week. I have a checklist for 9 pastures. We split everything to the south for one day, then the others west, another because getting thru that many pairs is an all day event and some ice cold beers.
Husband calls off numbers, I mark them off. If we can't find a cow or calf, it is noted and we check for it the next time. I also use that checklist to mark down stuff like how many bags of mineral or blocks of salt we took out, if something looked a little droopy, etc...
We do try to get to a south pasture (about 30 miles away) twice a week because the only water source are two windmills. If one/both failed, our cows wouldn't be in a good situation.

I see them almost daily, whether or not I look closely at them is a different story.

I see every cow at least once a day. During the fall when I'm calving they get checked every 4 hours or so.

1 farm every day if I'm not traveling. Other 2 farms maybe every 2-3 weeks but the people there see them every couple days.

Daily..kinda. I just have 124 contiguous acres to work with, so it isn't all that hard. If they are on the west side of the ponds, I can see them from the upstairs window where my computer desk is well enough to get a good count, and they usually do migrate over here at least once/day. If I have them shut off onto the East side 30 ac or in my sister's 40 acres I lease, I have to check on them and usually don't unless I know one is close to calving.
Being small time has it's advantages I guess. Right now, I only have 36hd total and I'm good with that.

I manage a beef operation so I see them M-F, and we have some help that checks on some weekends. Right now we are feeding calves, so we see em everyday, and when we calve we see em everyday. But the in between we feed up to get through the weekend, and they good.

I have ponds on every farm. But on the two farms I do rotational grazing on the cows depend on well water in several pastures. So I check those every day bc like NEFarmwife said, mine would be in a mess if something happened. I could always open a gate and allow them access to a pond if needed. During calving season I check everything at least once a day and try for twice as much as possible

Every day. During calving multiple times and I calve out my heifers in the barn so multiple times includes in the middle of the night. Is it necessary to check them so much? Probably not. But I take notes on which bulls are on which cows and keep a close eye on the calves.
