I have seen the commercials that Burger King runs on their Whopper with a veggie substitute for beef. I don't think I will be trying one.

I don't think I will go to Burger King....... that is an easy boycott for me. It has got to be 50-60 miles to the nearest Burger King.

The Whopper used to be my favorite burger to buy. But I have not stopped at a Burger King in years. Seems if we go through a drive thru, it is usually Arby's. If he wants to sit down to eat, it is Latham's BBQ in Jackson, TN. I let him pick where he wants to eat. He usually will ask me where I want to eat, but I always tell him what he wants to hear. Occasionally we will go to a Mexican place when the family wants to get together, and I do enjoy that as I like spicy food as he does too. No veggie burgers in my future. I remember the soy burgers from long ago and they were not good. I can't imagine what they do to make vegetables taste like a hamburger unless they are using some form of beef flavoring and seems the texture would be something to desire.
If anyone experiments and buys one of the veggie burgers, I hope they will give us an honest opinion of what they taste like. The commercials are always going to be favorable to the advertiser.

I would gladly eat a veggie burger over any hamburger burger king ever made.

Kroger has announced their line up of vegetarian meat. I want to see how they have it priced against real meat. I wouldn't doubt if it was higher.

BK used to be pretty good (subjective I know) at least was lots better than McDonalds. Don't know what BK did about 5-6 years ago, but they really went downhill. I didn't watch the video, but I did see in the news, that a Whataburger somewhere in Texas had a mouse running around the food prep counter in full view of the customers and one of them posted the video...................it ended up jumping in the french fry deep fryer.................. Oh well....poor mouse. May he rest in grease.....

Makes me want to stop going to Krogers after hearing that. They have already added all the soy and almond milk crap, till its hard to find the real stuff.

I have never tried any of the soy or almond milk. I have a friend that has a brother that is allergic to milk so when she cooks for him she uses the almond milk. But I will not ever try it as long as milk is still being sold.

But I will not ever try it as long as milk is still being sold. I used rice milk for an eliminations diet to find allergies. I would describe it as anything but "milk". Sort of white, sweet water. I found out some the itch inducing food from the effort and never bought more nor do I want to.

I went shopping in my local small town grocery. I scanned all the meat to see if they were slipping in any of the fake meat in the counter. I could not find any. I read where they are doing a 3D stamping on fake steaks to make them look real. They were supposed to be ribeyes. I can't imagine that the taste is anything like that cut of meat. I thought the 3D print looked nothing like the real thing.
