Just more snowflakes melting, I am sure it is linked to global warming. Would be great if people were smart enough to see how much it affects them just having manufacturing outsourced at this level and realize that importing your food at this level would be catastrophic. Maybe they can grow it cheaper elsewhere but they can also starve you to death anytime they want. WAKE UP AMERICA!! That's the process we're in, people waking up. Majority sees it. This is why I think farmers/ranchers are going to end up better than we've been in a long time.

I've spent lots of time at a hospital the last few days, so I know what the protocols are and the extent to which the medical community is going. Wife had what we think was a mini stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA) Saturday and I had to call the paramedics and transport her by ambulance. Doing better now and may be released today.
Pretty big hospital there in Kingwood Tx, and all doors are now closed to entrance/exit except ER. "Kingwood Medical Center is a full-service 373-bed acute care hospital, with more than 450 physicians, 1,500-plus healthcare professionals"
Everyone coming or going has to go thru the E-Room exit/entrance and everyone coming in is looked over and scanned with one of those point N shoot remote sensing thermometers.. Anyone with cough, cold, runny nose has to wear a mask. You have to wash your hands before entering the building beyond the littl foyer at E-Room and there are hand sanitizers on the walls EVERYWHERE now. In my old age, I've developed pine pollen allergy so I have the runny nose thing and had to wear the mask..not fun and I have never washed my hands this many times per day. They're taking it pretty serious and beginning this morning, they will only allow 25 total visitors at any time hospital wide and no visitors allowed between 6Pm and 6am unless (as the guy put it) "someone is dying or being born".

I was reading where Cookville in Tennessee has a case reported. Before I read that, I thought, I haven't been out and about. Then I remembered that I had gone to Cookville to pick up a horse; forgot my halter, and had to go in Tractor Supply to pick one up before I made it to the farm. Well good grief!! That is all it would take to catch it. It would be my luck that the person that contracted the disease, actually picked up the very same halter that I purchased, sneezed on it. Ha-ha!! Looks like I need to get to Walmart and pick up a years supply of beans and Tang. Yum-yum!! You're not going to put your trust in the Islamic prevention? LOL Angusrancher, I started to look up the Islamic prevention to see what you were speaking of. It may have been written about earlier, but I somehow did not retain it in my tiny mind, so I hope that you will tell me what that is so I can give you the answer to your question.

I think it's serious to those that have already been mentioned, the elderly and those with compromised immune or respiratory systems. But I think it's been over played by the media in hopes of crashing markets and causing hysteria to the general public as well.

With the common flu affecting 45 million in the US and 46 thousand dying from it since October, The Corona virus has affected 800 in the US and 27 deaths so far, I think the medias 24 hour a day lip service on this isn't helping much.

Makes zero difference whether the media mentions it or not. It will still spread just as fast or faster regardless of the media and the same # of people are going to die...(and this is what most people are missing or ignoring) .... IN ADDITION TO the number of people that die from the flu.

Well I'd does matter about the media and social media talking about it 24/7, it's like yelling bomb on a airplane, in a couple of weeks the way everything is going, the whole world will be shut down, its been around since the 60s, why wasn't it taken seriously back then? Just like all the other strains, putting every one in a panic isn't going to help.

There are so far 5 presumed cases and one death in SD. All travel related, and so far much smaller numbers with the Kung Flu than regular flu.
